Fitch Group, Inc., Fitch Ratings, Inc., Fitch 7city Learning, Inc., Business Monitor International, Inc., and Fitch Solutions, Inc. (“Fitch”, “we”, “our” or “us”) comply with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield and Swiss-U.S. Frameworks as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information transferred to us from European Union member countries and Switzerland to the United States. If there is any conflict between the terms in this Privacy Shield Notice and the principles set forth in the Privacy Shield Frameworks (“Privacy Shield Principles”), the Privacy Shield Principles shall govern. We have certified to the Department of Commerce that we adhere to the Privacy Shield Principles in processing Privacy Shield Information. Fitch receives personal information in connection with the operation of websites operated and owned by Fitch Group, Inc. or its affiliates or subsidiaries that link to the Fitch Privacy Policy (e.g.,,, and, in the course of offering products and services to our clients, and in association with developing our business (collectively, “Privacy Shield Information”).

For all Privacy Shield Information that we provide to third party service providers or other third parties, Fitch is liable for processing activities that are inconsistent with the Privacy Shield Principles, unless Fitch was not responsible for the event giving rise to any alleged damage.

We may be required to disclose Privacy Shield Information in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.

Inquiries & Complaints

In compliance with the Privacy Shield Principles, we commit to resolve complaints about our collection or use of Privacy Shield Information. European Union and Swiss individuals with inquiries or complaints regarding our Privacy Shield policy should first contact us at We have further committed to refer unresolved Privacy Shield complaints to JAMS, an alternative dispute resolution provider located in the United States. In association with the operation of our websites, mobile applications, and digital services, we collect and handle personal information as described in the Privacy Policy. That notice provides information about:

Use of Privacy Shield Information

We use such information to:

  • Communicate with clients, representatives, and users regarding features, services, and alerts
  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations
  • Analyze and improve our products and services
  • Promote our products and services
  • Detect and prevent fraud and activities that may violate applicable laws or our terms of use
  • To protect our rights and the rights of others
Disclosures of Privacy Shield Information

We disclose Privacy Shield Information:

  • Within the Fitch family of companies.
  • To service providers that perform services or handle transactions on our behalf.
  • To the organizations that purchase the services, subscriptions, or memberships in association with which the information was collected.
  • To business partners.
  • To professional teaching, education, or examining bodies as reasonably necessary to provide requested services.
  • To other parties when required by law or as reasonably necessary to protect our rights or those of others.
  • In the context of corporate transactions.
  • With your consent or otherwise at your direction.
Your Rights

European Union and Swiss individuals have the following rights with regard to Privacy Shield Information:

  • To obtain confirmation of whether Fitch is processing such information;
  • To access such information so that they can verify its accuracy and the lawfulness of processing;
  • To unsubscribe from our marketing or promotional emails by clicking the “Unsubscribe” link in our emails, by logging into your account and adjusting your preferences, or by contacting us at; and
  • To have such information corrected, amended, or deleted where it is inaccurate or processed in violation of the Privacy Shield Principles, except where the legitimate rights of persons other than the individual would be violated or the burden or expense of providing these rights would be disproportionate to the risks to the individual’s privacy in the case in
